My Blog’s 2 Month Old Journey So Far
I’ve just returned to Holland a few hours ago, as I went for a little holiday to the UK for a few days. So I’m pretty tired by all the travelling, but that’s not stopping me to post a new post on my blog (lol).
So then it look like I’ve been blogging for 2 months now and believe it or not, but time has gone very fast in these past 2 months. I’ve been active on forums, commenting and building back links. I’ve learned a few lessons and have expanded my knowledge.
I’ve been able to promote my blog by using only free methods which is a good thing money wise. I’ve started to get a consistent amount of traffic since a few weeks ago and that means all the blog commenting is starting to pay off. At first I needed to comment on 20 to 30 related blogs every day to get between 15-25 uniques a day, but now I get around 30-45 a day. Some days I don’t comment on blogs as I don’t have any time, but still am able to get 30 uniques. I reckon the more comments you have the more consistent traffic you will get as the links with your comment will stay there permanently.
I’ve been trying to experiment with Twitter to find a way to get a bit traffic from them, but so far my efforts are pretty much failing.
Any way lets look at the stats for this month.
Google PageRank
I think we all have heard about the long awaited page rank update Google performed a few days ago. It’s been a satisfying update for most blogger’s as they’ve increased their PageRank. As for myself it was more of a disappointing experience as my PageRank didn’t increase. To make matter’s worse let me tell you how excited I was when I heard about the update, in fact let me just rephrase what exactly happened that day.
So then there I was waking up at 10 o’clock in the morning. I quickly checked my mail and as usual there wasn’t anything special. So then I starting going to some forums like Digitalpoint. As I opened the forum I saw a massive thread called ‘Google PageRank Updated’ so obviously I clicked it and to my surprise everybody was saying that the page rank just updated. So me all getting excited and happy because some people had their PageRank 0 updated to PageRank 2 or 3. So I quickly rushed over to my blog full of expectations. As my blog loaded and my smile got bigger and bigger I quickly started glazing at the Google toolbar and before I knew it my smile become something called uhmm no smile, because all I saw was a big momma PageRank 0.
This may sound funny now, but I can guarantee you that it wasn’t funny at that exact moment(lol). Any way it looks like I have to wait until the next PageRank update.
Traffic
The good thing is that my traffic has increased a bit. My best traffic source according to Google Analytics is referring sites. My main source of traffic does indeed come from blog commenting. I’ve been able to hit around between 30-45 uniques a day. My Alexa traffic rank has also rapidly increased and is currently just a bit higher then 400,000. This proves that I’m on the right track to achieve my goal of getting a Alexa rank of lower then 100,000.
Blog Comments
So far this blog has been getting quite a lot of comments and it makes me happy to see all those comments. As of now I have received a total of 245 comments and would like to thank and encourage everyone to leave even more comments.
Since the beginning of this blog I have always wanted to see comments as I think comments is the back hand of every blog. I personally love reading comments and will always try to respond to every comment if it is worth replying to. Not only are comments enjoyable for me, but it will be beneficial for you too as you will get a free back link to your site as well.
Back Links
I have been increasing my back links as well over the past 2 months. I have been commenting on related blogs, I have submitted my blog to directories and have been active on a few forums. When I checked with a free back link checker my blog had 3000+ back links, so I’m quite satisfied with the back links at the moment. This means I get 100 back links every day.
Blog Posts
I’ve made 10 blog posts this month. I know it’s not much, but I’m really trying to post more often, although I’m already on a very tight schedule. Anyway here are my 10 posts listed for this month.

Conclusion: As you can see my blog is improving day by day and I am wanting to keep it that way. Although I didn’t get any PageRank or don’t earn much income yet, I still have high hopes and will continue doing the daily stuff we bloggers do.

Regarding your question, Do Follow links are more valuable in Google’s Eyes. If you can get your link on high PR sites you will get a faster PR and have a higher chance to rank higher in Google.

You’re doing an awesome job dude. I remember starting my blog out, and man, it’s such a good feeling to go through all of the stats like you are now and see what kind of a job you’re doing.

Yehe, blog commenting is very effective in getting some traffic. It’s not going to sky rocket your traffic, but it is helpful.
Haha to be honest I have seen your avatar many many times, but just realised now.
Blog commenting is good for al new blogger and I highly reccommend everyone to do it.
