Is The Recession Damaging Your Blogging Success?

recessionThe recession has changed many lives all over the world. Millions of people are losing their jobs and are unable to live a stable life. They are unable to pay for their house and other expenses and need to take a second job to survive. Massive multi billion companies are going bankrupt and have closed down. People are forced to cut costs and can just about survive.

With this crisis going on, the big question is, how is the economy crisis effecting you as a blogger?

Even though blogger’s aren’t hit as bad as the offline world, most blogger’s can clearly see that their income is declining since the recession. Our biggest income comes from advertising networks, ad sales and reviews.

I personally haven’t noticed a decrease of clicks or page impressions, but I have noticed that our payout per click has been decreased. Before in the past getting around $0.30 per click has now been decreased to around $0.10 per click or even lower. I personally feel that advertising networks are also having a bit of a rough time and there for have decreased the earning, although I have seen some blogger’s complain about the decrease of earnings, this is nothing compared to other industries such as the stock market or the housing market.

However there are opportunities in the economy crisis as well. If you think logically what do you think people who are having a hard time will do? Yep, that’s right the more people lose their jobs the more they will be reading make money online blogs to look for new ways to make money online. So that means more traffic and maybe more sales if you can rank high in Google search engine.

The main thing is how does all this effect blogger’s? Although this economy crisis has affected millions of people’s lives I still think that blogger’s aren’t effected as bad as the offline world. I still see many massive blogs how still are producing those income reports and are earning $2000 or higher per month. With all these people looking to earn some extra money online I think bloggers should try to take advantage of this crisis.

How does the economy crisis effect you as a blogger? Is it benefiting you? Is it ruining your blog and earnings?

Advertising are major for any product And companies spend a lot over the same. Recession affects individual pockets And each subject of buying & selling revolves around pocket-money.

I would have to agree with you, there’s no better time to attack a market hard than when everyone else is assuming that the market is no longer viable or down and out.

As the recession restores slowly, advertisers and the market will also slowly restore to the point it once was.

And hopefully the earning of bloggers will also rise

Since changing platforms from website to blog I have noticed an actual increase in revenue. I attribute that to reader interaction which I didn’t have when the domain was just a website.

I don’t have a large cash outlay so revenue generated stays in my pocket. I also stick with only proven revenue generators; I am not one to take up valuable blog space with products that aren’t usable and of value.

This is a really great post! :)

Well, I must agree with you on this one. Recession actually dropped my AdSense earning. It’s a simple logic, if we (bloggers) must earn something, someone out there must spend (advertisers). What’ll happen if they don’t spend? We don’t earn.. that’s the situation right now. Hope things change in near future.
