3 Easy Ways To Improve Google Pagerank
Page rank has evolved to be a very important part of evaluating how popular your site is. Although some people think page rank is of no use all I can say is that they are horribly wrong. The ones that do care about page rank including myself are on the right track.
So you want to increase your page rank huh? Why not, page rank shows your visitors how popular your blog is. If you look at all the popular blogs like Johnchow, Problogger or Shoemoney they all have a page rank higher than 5 and are making good money. The higher the page rank, the more visible you will be in search engines and that means lots of traffic. Google will also consider your site more valuable if your pagerank is larger and will visit your site almost daily.
Page rank is also very importent for potential advertisers who want to advertise on your blog. Basically the higher your page rank the more advertisers you will get and the the higher they will be wanting to pay.
Have you ever wondered why your page rank never increases, if so here are some easy steps to to increase your page rank.
Increase Backlinks
Having many sites linking to your site is a very fast and valuable way to get a increase in page rank. The thing here is that you have to try to get as many quality blogs or sites to have a back link on their site pointing to your blog, because the more links Google sees on different sites that are linking to you, the more valuable you will be in Google eyes.
The higher the page rank of that particular site, the higher your page rank will be. Don’t forget that you should aim to get a back links only from quality sites and not from any weird spam sites. So you should rather aim for a page rank 3 quality back link instead 100 page rank 0 spam sites.
Submit to Directories
Submit to hundreds or let’s say submit your blog to as many blog or general directories as you possibly can. There are literally thousands of directories and not submitting to any directories is a big mistake because you’ll be missing out on lots of nice back links. Only submit to seo friendly as Google prefers seo friendly directories.
Update your blog
Probably the most important aspect of owning a blog. If you want to rank high and make money online then you have to update your blog frequently with new unique content. If you can’t update daily then every 2 or 3 days is also ideal. Once you have quality content on your blog then Google will automatically come to your blog.
As they say content is king
Depending on the factor of how well you’ve gained the back links and if there of good quality I would say that you could easily gain a page rank 1 in 1 month.
Now don’t expect your traffic to explode, because these methods are only focused on increasing your page rank and back links. You won’t get much traffic with these methods.
So guys how do you increase high page rank?

Hi,
I really like the look of your site. As a fairly new blogger I really haven’t concentrated too much on page rank but I really want to become more cognizant of it in the future. Could you possibly recommend some directories to submit my blog to? My Alexa ranking ha been constantly getting lower and lower in the past four months so I think I’m doing something right.
I will have to do some more homework on page rank. Thanks for reminding me.
Best,
Bob

Great that your Alexa ranking is getting lower and lower. I have found a list of 2000 seo friendly directories. I’m currently trying to submit to as many I can. Just follow this link.

Well said: Content is King.
The pagerank currently for blog is 3 but I was not aware how to reach rank 3. I was honest about travel & writing And maybe that was the reason. But yes, more higher rankings we all wish.

PageRank is an important metric every blogger should keep an eye on it aside Alexa and other metric. Thanks for the tips, I think I should spend more time submitting my blog to directories.

Those are actually some great tips!
I agree with you wholeheartedly when it comes to content. Google loves fresh content, so the more you can update with unique relevant info, the better your chances of ranking with them.
And while they’ve recently remove the focus on PR, no blogger can deny the fact that when they see that little bar light up green, it brings a smile and sense of accomplishment to them.
Keep up the great work!

It really sort of a Catch 22 when one is first starting out. I link to quite a few blogs, at least one per post, but because I am a new blog so no one has linked back to me:(
It is a daunting task, but I’m hanging in there and keep in writing great content.

Yes, lots of new bloggers have this same problem. Just keep building links and once you get some traffic and pagerank people will want to advertise on your blog and exchange links. I had the same problem with some previous blogs.
It’s difficult, but still a challenge, that’s what makes it all so exciting.

Interesting post!
I can understand the fascination with pagerank, it is almost like a contest, so many people trying to get a higher PR than their rival!
There is one very very simple method to increasing your PR. Forget about it and concentrate on write quality posts instead.
Instead of spending 2 hours trying to build links and adding yourself to directories, spend the time writing a very good article. People will then generate your links for you.
Hope I don’t sound like I am criticizing, just trying to add my views!

@David
No not at all mate, I’m actually glad to see your view on the post.
As you said that pagerank is always exciting as it is a sort of contest between blogs, altough it’s not the most importent thing in the world it’s still fun to see what the pagerank is for related blogs.
If you write quality articles people will start noticing them and start linking to that article, not only will you get free backlinks, but you’ll also get some traffic.
I think to sweeten this process, it would also be ideal to keep a balance between building backlinks and creating quality posts. As I think both are very importent.
Thanks for letting us know your view.

Did you notice the PR update last night? I have a lot of changes in my internal pages but homepage remains at PR3.
As for the PR factor, you have to also worry about internal linking and as for backlinks, more than the count, the authority, domain type and IP class matters.. eg. Links from PR0 inner pages of.edu, .org might carry more value than a PR3 backlink from a .com – of course there are other parameters like number of outbound links from source, anchor text, context etc.
Good post!

Yes I heard about it but, my pagerank was not updated.
As you said there are many factors on how Google decides PR. It’s about how many quality back links you have, of course authority sites will be a massive boost if you could get a backlink from them.
Anchor text is also importent for ranking for keywords and PR.

Sorry but I do not agree with you one all of those way as backlinks sometimes do not mean anything to Google. It must be in line with your topic and higher yours rather that backlink farming. Natural link building is much better, how to do that is to build up good content and other bloggers will link back to you and Google appreciate that. Further, some (or maybe many) directories now required reciprocal link then it is easy for Google to identify that. Just my ideas

I’ve heard that many times and agree witht he fact that if your content is quality people will notice it and link to it, however building back links also massively increases Google PR and maybe even traffic depending on what way you promote.
By the way not all directories require reciprocal links and even if some do, there are still thousends that don’t require reciprocal.

To be honest I’m not really a great fan about purchasing links, although it’s a good way to get a good PR, if Google doesn’t know.
Why?
Because purchased links can really damage your PR. If Google finds out you will get penelized and your PR will go down or you’ll rank lower on search engines. If course there are people who do this and get away with this, but I woudn’t take my chances personally.

I’ts hard to say Tekshek, because it depends on the quality of the back links.
So it’s better to have 10 pagerank 4 back links then having 200 pagerank 2 back links. The higher the pagerank of the back links the more higher your own pagerank will be.
Just keep building high back links and you can see what happens.
